Hi there! My name is Megan Lambeth Darnell and I am the middle person in the picture below. The other two individuals are my parents, Darrell and Sheryl Lambeth. Together, we own Daddy-Daughter Farm and A Southern Girl's Veggie Stand!
|
Daddy-Daughter Farm is located on land that has been in Darrell's family for over five generations. Thus, Darrell has lived here his entire life. If asked, he loves to tell stories of growing up on his grandparents home place taking care of animals, bees, or plants.
Sheryl grew up not to far from the farm in Silver Valley, NC. She and Darrell met, married, and moved onto the land that DD Farm is located on today. They have been the heart of Daddy-Daughter Farm, putting in much of their time and resources to ensure the new business is successful while working full time. |
Born and raised on the family farm, Megan has always been a fan of the outdoors. Growing up she loved playing in the creek behind the house, exploring the woods, and spending summers growing a small garden. Never could she have imagined that in 2018, the Lambeth Family would establish Daddy-Daughter Farm. Though Megan recently got married she and her husband, Zack, didn't move far down the road.
Megan is a graduate from North Carolina State University with a degree, not in agriculture, but rather High School Mathematics. The family farm is her second job that she loves to tend during her time away from the classroom at a local High School. She has hopes to obtain further education in the Agricultural field in the coming years. Possibly in Horticultural studies. |
From the BEGINNING |
Where we are now |
I started my business during the summer going into my senior year of high school. My main intentions for planting, raising, and marketing produce that year was to complete my senior project. Little did I know that this family trait would bring me so much joy. For the next four years I sold at a local farmers market and then moved to a vegetable stand (me and my dad built) located at our home in Silver Valley, North Carolina.
|
In 2018, we expanded my small veggie stand to a 3 season farm! Daddy-Daughter Farm is a family project and I am so glad that I get to work closely with my mom and dad to make my dream of owning my own farm and business come true. We have added another field to our current location and we are planting our vegetables on plastic mulch to be more efficient in our growing process.
|
We cannot wait to see what the coming years have in store for us as we continue to grow our business and farm.
Through all of this, To God Be the Glory! And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17 (KJV) |
